Oil Pan Replacement (Lower Pan)


REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

Caution: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the splash shield bolts.
4. Remove the splash shield.
5. Drain the engine oil.
6. Disconnect the oil level sensor connection.





7. Remove the oil level sensor wire electrical connector C-clip (1) from the oil pan housing.
8. Remove the oil pan bolts.





9. Remove the oil pan from the oil pan housing.
10. Pull the oil level sensor electrical connection from the upper oil pan housing.





11. Remove the oil level sensor bolts.
12. Remove the oil level sensor from the oil pan.
13. Clean the oil pan.
14. Clean the oil pan gasket surfaces.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the oil level sensor to the oil pan.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the oil level sensor bolts.
- Tighten the oil level sensor bolts until fully seated. Do not strip the oil level sensor bolts.





3. Install the oil pan gasket.
4. Replace the oil level sensor wire electrical connector O-ring.
5. Support the oil pan.





6. Install the oil level sensor wire electrical connector to the oil pan housing with the C-clip (1).
7. Install the oil pan to the oil pan housing.
8. Install the oil pan bolts.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs).

9. Reconnect the oil level sensor electrical connection.
10. Install the splash shield.
11. Install the splash shield bolts.
- Tighten the splash shield bolts until fully seated. Do not strip the splash shield bolts.

12. Lower the vehicle.
13. Refill the engine oil.
14. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
15. Reprogram the applicable accessories.
