Fuel Door Release Actuator: Service and Repair

Fuel Filler Door Release Actuator Replacement: Removal Procedure:

The fuel filler door has a actuator button located on the right side of the radio in the center of the I/P bezel. The fuel tank filler door actuator is located on the right rear inner wheel well behind the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.

Removal Procedure
1. Remove the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
2. Remove the electrical connector from the fuel tank filler door actuator.
3. Remove the screws (2) from the fuel tank filler door actuator (1).
4. Remove the screws (4) from the fuel tank filler door actuator mounting plate (3).
5. Remove the fuel tank filler door actuator (1).

Installation Procedure

Fuel Filler Door Release Actuator Replacement: Installation Procedure:

1. Install the fuel tank filler door actuator (1).
2. Adjust the fuel tank filler door actuator plunger until it aligns with the fuel tiller door latch plate.
3. Install the screws (4) to the fuel tank tiller actuator mounting plate.

Tighten
Tighten the fuel tank filler door actuator mounting plate screws until fully seated. Do NOT strip the fuel tank filler door actuator mounting plate screws.

4. Install the screws (2) to the fuel tank filler door actuator (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fuel tank filler door actuator screws until fully seated. Do NOT strip the fuel tank filler door actuator screws.

5. Install the electrical connector to the fuel tank filler door actuator.
6. Install the rear compartment stowage/CD player door.
