Antenna System
The AM-FM antenna system is integrated with the rear window defogger. The antenna the rear window defogger grids for the radio signal reception. The antenna amplifier is mounted on the rear parcel shelf and amplifies the incoming radio signals for radio system reception and operation. If static is heard on the radio when the rear defogger is first turned on, a grid may need to be repaired.Inspect that the inside surface of the glass is not scratched and that the lines on the glass are not damaged. This could interfere with the radio operation. Do not clear ice from the inside of the window using a credit card, an ice scraper, or any other similar hard object. This may damage the grid and affect the radio's ability to clearly receive the radio signals.
If a cellular telephone is to be added to the vehicle, and the antenna needs to be attached to the glass, be careful no to damage the grid lines. There is a specific location at the top of the glass dedicated for the installation of a cellular telephone antenna.
