Transmission Mount: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

^ Tools Required:
- J 28467-360 Engine Support Fixture





1. Disconnect the battery negative cable assembly from the battery negative terminal.

CAUTION: Before removing or installing any electrical unit or when a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with live exposed electrical terminals, disconnect the negative battery cable assembly to help prevent personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or components. Unless instructed otherwise, the ignition switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position.





2. Install the J28467-60.
3. Raise the left side of the powertrain (the transmission side) 25.4 mm (1.0 in) above the powertrain resting position with the adjusting screws.
4. Raise the vehicle.
5. Support the vehicle with safety stands.
6. Remove the right front tire and wheel.





7. Remove the nuts attaching the mount to the frame. The mount should pull away from the frame.
8. Remove the nuts attaching the mount to the bracket.
9. Remove the right transmission mount.
10. Remove the bolts attaching the bracket to the transmission.
11. Remove the transmission mount bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the right transaxle mount bracket and the attaching bolts.
- Tighten the bolts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).

NOTICE: Always use the correct fastener in the correct location. When you replace a fastener, use ONLY the exact part number for that application. The manufacturer will call out those fasteners that require a replacement after removal. The manufacturer will also call out the fasteners that require thread lockers or thread sealant. UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, do not use supplemental coatings (paints, greases, or other corrosion inhibitors) on threaded fasteners or fastener joint interfaces. Generally, such coatings adversely affect the fastener tightening sequence and specifications. Following these instructions can help you avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the right transaxle mount and nuts at the bracket.
- Tighten the nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the nuts attaching the mount to the frame.
- Tighten the nuts to 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the right front tire and wheel.
5. Remove the safety stands.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Loosen the J 28467-360 adjusting screws in order to lower the powertrain to the powertrain resting position.
8. Remove the J 28467-360.
9. Connect the battery negative cable assembly to the battery negative terminal.
- Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.).
