Normal Operation

The red BRAKE light should turn on when the parking brake is applied or not fully released and also when the ignition switch is moved to the START position. The BRAKE light should remain off at all other times. Information is intended to address only malfunctions which are not specifically related to the antilock portion of the brake system. To diagnose conditions affecting the brake linings, front and rear calipers, rotors, lines and hoses, brake pedal assembly and parking brake system, refer to the Brakes System.
