Instrument Panel Module






REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System under Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.

2. Remove the inflatable restraint IP module cover. Refer to SIR Module Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

3. Remove the fasteners from the inflatable restraint IP module.

4. Disconnect the inflatable restraint IP module 2-way harness connector (4) by sliding the top Connector Position Assurance (CPA) back, and then levering the CPA back to allow the connector to be disconnected.

5. Remove the inflatable restraint IP module from the vehicle.


INSTALLATION PROCEDURE





1. Install the inflatable restraint P module to the vehicle.

2. Connect the inflatable restraint IP module 2-way harness connector (4) by securely connecting both sides of the connector and then sliding the top Connector Position Assurance (CPA) forward.

3. Install the fasteners to the inflatable restraint IP module.

TIGHTEN

Use only hand tools to tighten the fasteners to 8 N.m (72 lb. in). Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precations.

4. Install the IP module cover. Refer to SIR Module Cover Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

5. Enable the SIR system. Refer to Enabling the SIR System under Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming.

IMPORTANT: The air bag registration card supplied with the replacement air bag must be correctly filled out, complete with the vehicle VIN and the air bag serial number, and mailed to the address indicated by the card.
