Usage of Partial Engine Assemblies

A partial engine assembly, P/N 90542281 is available from GMSPO and should be used when appropriate for major engine repair on a Catera under warranty. Partial engine assemblies should be used whenever the engine block is damaged beyond repair or the cost of repair or replacement of components exceeds the cost of a partial engine assembly. Usage of a complete engine assembly for warranty service on a Catera is not allowed unless a dealer obtains prior approval from their District Service Manager. Complete engine assemblies are available from GMSPO but are intended for severe engine damage due to collision, fire, flood or theft.
