Vehicles Built After VIN Breakpoint 613302

This article has been updated with bulletin No: 63-10-26.

DOOR WINDOW ADJUSTMENT

NOTE: Vehicles Built After VIN Breakpoint 613302 Only.

NOTE: Door trim panel and water deflector must be removed to perform door window adjustments. Loosen rear wedge before starting adjustment procedures.

PARALLELISM ADJUSTMENT

1. Check window parallelism adjustment. Raise window to approximately 12 mm (1/2 inch) below full up position. Parallelism is to be checked on upstroke of window motion. The gap from the horizontal edge of window to weatherstrip should be even at front and rear of window. Adjust parallelism as needed by loosening and repositioning inner cam bolts.
2. Tighten inner panel cam bolts to 11 Nm (97 lb in.).

WINDOW FORE AND AFT ADJUSTMENT
1. With window up and door closed, measure space between window and B-pillar weatherstrip retainer. Space should be 6 to 7 mm.

2. If space is not within specs, loosen regulator to window sash channel bolts and reposition window, recheck adjustment.

IMPORTANT: Moving window forward too far will increase door closing effort and reduce window seal contact at B-pillar.

3. Snug sash channel bolts.
4. Tighten regulator to sash channel bolts 11 Nm (97 lb in.)

WINDOW UPSTOP ADJUSTMENT

IMPORTANT: Window upstop adjusters are color coded. The front upstop adjuster is a neutral color and the rear adjuster is black. The adjuster bolt has a 6 mm head. One full turn equals 1 mm of movement of the glass (Figure 4). Clockwise rotation moves window up, counter clockwise rotation moves window down, when viewed facing door inner panel. Window should be lowered slightly to relieve pressure before moving adjusters.

1. Remove roof rail weatherstrip.

2. Insert a one inch wide roll of masking tape in the weatherstrip retainer assembly as shown in Figure 5, Section B-B.
3. Window in full up position and door closed.
4. Measure gap between edge of weatherstrip retainer assembly and top edge of window as shown.

5. Gap should be 3 mm ± 0.5 mm.

6. If gap is not within specs, figure the amount of movement needed and adjust upstops accordingly. See first paragraph in this procedure for proper movement of upstop adjusters.

7. Reinstall roof rail weatherstrip.

NOTE: After adjustments have been made, raise window to the full up position, raise rear wedge until it contacts rear edge of window and tighten attachment screw to 3 nm (27 lb in.).

8. Reinstall water deflector and trim panel.
