CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Modules under "Controlled Power" are supplied power through the "Controlled Power Relay." The "High Power Control" output is grounded whenever the PZM is awake and for 15 minutes after the ignition switch is turned to the "LOCK" position. After the 15 minutes elapse the "Low Power Driver Output" is turned "ON". The "Low Power Driver Output" will supply up to 2 amps of current for up to 72 hours and 20 minutes. If the PZM detects that more than 2 amps are needed, it will wake-up and turn "ON" the "High Power Control" output.
DTC WILL SET WHEN
The PZM does not see the "Low Power Driver Output" "ON" after 300ms.
ACTION TAKEN (BY PZM)
The PZM will turn the "Low Power Driver Output" "OFF" until the state of the Ignition changes or the PZM receives a "Wake-Up."
DTC WILL CLEAR WHEN
The Ignition state changes or the PZM receives a "Wake-Up."
DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
1. This test determines whether the malfunction was in the PZM.
2. This test determines if the short to ground is in the "Low Power Driver Output" circuit.
3. This test checks for a short to ground in the "Controlled Power Relay" feed circuit.
4. This test checks for a short to ground in the Radio feed circuit.
5. This test decides if the short to ground is in the Instrument Panel Cluster feed circuit or the Amp (on applicable vehicles).
