With the ignition switch in RUN or START, battery voltage is applied through Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay Center CRUISE Fuse to the Park/Neutral Position Switch. When the Gear Selector lever is placed in REVERSE, battery voltage is applied to the Backup Lamps. Because the Backup Lamps are permanently grounded at G402, they will remain lit until the Gear Selector lever is moved out of the REVERSE position.
