Driver Information Center Inoperative

DRIVERS INFORMATION CENTER INOPERATIVE

Circuit Description:
The Driver Information Center switch changes the Driver Information Center state by momentarily grounding one of three input circuits to the IPC. If the IPC receives more then one input at a time it disregards the command.

Trouble Shooting Hints:
1. If the scan tool indicates the IPC status changes when a Driver Information Center switch is pressed:
A. Disconnect the Driver Information Center switch and connect a frsed jumper from the Driver Information Center switch connector terminal 15 to 7 then 15 to 14 then 15 to 13.
B. If the Driver Information Center display changes state then replace the Driver Information Center switch. If the Driver Information Center display still does not change then replace IPC.

2. If the scan tool indicates the IPC status does not change when a Driver Information Center switch is pressed, check CKTs 151 (BLK/WHT), 1816 (ORN), 376 (LT ORN), 894 (DK BLU) for open and Driver Information Center switch operation. If OK, replace IPC.
