Circuit Operation
Each outside mirror has two reversible motors. One motor adjusts the mirror view left and right and the other motor adjusts the mirror up and down. The driver operates either an up-down switch or a left-right switch to control the polarity of the battery voltage applied to the mirrors. The Mirror Select Switch, which is part of the Power Mirror Switch Assembly, directs the applied battery voltage from the Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay MIRROR Fuse to either the LH or RH Outside Mirror Assembly.Up-Down Operation
With the Mirror Select Switch in the "L" position and the Mirror Control Switch in the UP position, battery voltage from the Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay MIRROR Fuse is applied to the LH Outside Mirror Assembly"s UP-DOWN Motor via the up contacts of the Mirror Control Switches and YEL (88). Ground UP-DOWN motor is via LT ORN (89), the Mirror Select Switch, the up contacts of the Mirror Control Switches and BLK (50) to ground 0204.
When the Power Mirror Switch is moved to the DOWN position, the battery voltage polarity to the UP-DOWN motor is reversed. The motor is now grounded via YEL (88) and the Power Mirror Switch. Battery voltage is now applied to the motor via LT GRN (89). The motor will now turn in the opposite direction and move the mirror down.
Left-Right Operation
The L-R Motor operation is similar to the UP-DOWN Motor operation. When the Mirror Control Switch is in the LEFT position, battery voltage from the Engine Compartment Fuse/Relay MIRROR Fuse is applied to the LH Outside Mirror Assembly"s L-R Motor via the LEFT contacts of the Mirror Control Switches and LT BLU (82). Ground for the motor is via WHT (81), the LEFT contacts of the Mirror Control Switches and BLK (50) to ground 0204.
When the Power Mirror Switch is moved to the RIGHT position, the battery voltage polarity to the L-R Motor is reversed. The motor is now grounded via LT BLU (82) and the Power Mirror Switch. Battery voltage is now applied to the motor via WHT (81) The motor will now turn in the opposite direction and move the mirror to the right.
The RH Outside Mirror works the same way as the LH Outside Mirror when the Mirror Select Switch is moved to the "R" position.
