Road Sensing Suspension (RSS)

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the ignition is turned "ON," the RSS module monitors communications between its internal microprocessors. It also performs various diagnostic tests on itself.

CODE RS0050 WILL SET WHEN
The RSS module detects an internal malfunction.

ACTION TAKEN
The RSS module will display the "SERVICE RIDE CONTROL" message and switch all four of the damper solenoid valves to the firm position.

CODE RS0050 WILL GO "HISTORY" WHEN
No internal malfunctions are detected by the RSS module.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. Service replacement modules will have a code RSOO5l stored in memory when shipped. After replacement of a RSS module, perform the RSS module calibration procedure Suspension Control Module and the Steering Autocenter Adjustment Steering and the Electronic Leveling Control (ECL) Trim Height Adjustment procedures. IMPORTANT
^ DO NOT BACKPROBE SENSORS, DAMPERS, ELC CONNECTORS, OR SSS CONNECTORS.
^ WHEN ALL DIAGNOSIS AND REPAIRS ARE COMPLETE, CLEAR CODES AND VERIFY OPERATION.
