CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

The PZM may command the Low Beams through a discrete output to the Low Beam Relay. Grounding this output also grounds the "Headlamps" input to the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).

A short to ground will be tested for when: 1.)"Exterior Lamp Power" is active, 2.)The "Low Beam" output is inactive, 3.)The "Headlamp Switch" is not active and 4.)DTC PZ 1970 is not active.

A short to battery will be tested for when: 1.)"Exterior Lamp Power" is active, 2.)The "Low Beam" output is active and 3.)DTC PZ 1970 is not active.

DTC WILL SET WHEN

The commanded state of the Low Beams does not match the feedback state.

ACTION TAKEN (BY PZM)

The PZM will continue to command the requested state until the IPC revokes the request.

DTC WILL CLEAR WHEN

The commanded state matches the feedback state.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

1. This test determines whether the malfunction is an open or short to ground.

2. This test decides if the open is on the relay side or the PZM side.

3. This test checks to see if the malfunction is in the wiring or the PZM.

4. This test checks to see if the malfunction is in the wiring or the PZM.
