PZ2088
Wiring Diagram:
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The PZM sends Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) data messages to controllers for the bus and maintains a counter which increments with each message to the module. When the module responds to the message, the counter is cleared.
DTC WILL SET WHEN
If the PZM's message counter for this device exceeds 20.
ACTION TAKEN (BY PZM)
The PZM will send a Class 2 message to the IPC to display the Service Air Bag System message.
DTC WILL CLEAR WHEN
The PZM does not detect the malfunction for one monitoring cycle.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
1. If DTCs PZ 2042 and PZ 2056 are also current, check for a short to ground or voltage in CKT 800.
2. Ensures that the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint System is functioning normally outside of the loss of serial communication, if it is not functioning properly or you are not certain, perform the "Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) Diagnostic System Check," refer to SIR SYSTEM. Air Bag Systems
3. If the SIR system is functioning properly, check for proper connection at Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) terminals "A3" and "B3," if OK then replace SDM.
