CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC IP 2710 indicates that an open or zero resistance value was read from the PASS-Key II prior to obtaining a valid resistance reading. This DTC will display a "Starting Disabled, Due to Theft System, Remove Ignition Key" and prevent the car from starting.

DTC IP 2711 indicates that an open or zero resistance value was read from the PASS-Key II following a valid resistance reading. This DTC will display a "Theft System Car May Not Restart" message.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

1. This test determines whether the malfunction is above or below the steering column.

2. This test checks to see if the malfunction is in the wiring or the lock cylinder.

3. This test checks to see if the malfunction is a short in the wiring.

4. This test checks for a short to ground in the wiring.

5. This test checks for a short to ground in the wiring.

6. This test determines whether the malfunction is in the lock cylinder or in the key.

7. This test determines whether the malfunction is in the lock cylinder or in the key.
