CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC IP 2152 will set if the ignition is on and the IPC is not able to exchange data with the Heater and A/C Programmer. During the time the failure is present, the climate control panel will display "--" for outside and set temperatures, defrost mode will be selected, the A/C clutch will be disabled, and the blower will run at a constant 6 volts.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

Test numbers refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. This test ensures that the Heater and A/C Programmer is functioning normally outside of the loss of serial communication.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

If only DTC IP 2152 is stored as "History", check Heater and A/C Programmer power, ground and serial data cavities for intermittent open circuits. If there are multiple communication DTCs current (i.e. DTC IP 2016, IP 2064, IP 2128 and IP 2152) perform the Body Control Module (PZM) Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Body Control Module.
