CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC IP 2128 will set if the ignition is "ON" and the IRC is not able to exchange data with the IPC.

DTC CHART TEST DESCRIPTION

Test numbers refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. This test ensures that the Radio is functioning properly outside of the loss of serial communication.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

If only DTC IP 2128 is stored as "History", check the 1807 circuit for intermittent open circuits between the IPC and the IRC. If IPC DTC IP 1981 history is also set, power and ground is suspected. If there are multiple communication DTCs current (i.e. DTC IP 2016, IP 2064, IP 2128 and IP 2152) perform the Body Control Module (PZM) Diagnostic System Check. Refer to Body Control Module.
