IP1552

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION

DTC IP1552 indicates that the keep alive, or battery-backed memory has been reset. It is a normal occurrence whenever power or ground is removed from the IPC, such as anytime the battery has been disconnected and reconnected.

ACTION TAKEN (BY IPC)

When this DTC is set, IPC KAM data (Trip odometer, Timer) is reset to initial values. Average Fuel Economy, Fuel Used, and Average MPH will be reset to zero. If the vehicle battery is disconnected, the climate control will display 75° set temperature, "Auto" mode and "Auto" fan speed. If only the IPC has been disconnected. the climate control should return the previous settings. This assumes the key is turned to RUN with power applied to the IPC.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

This DTC will set if the Class-2 serial data link is shorted and the Body Control Module (PZM) attempts to go to Low Power mode (approximately 20 minutes after key OFF). If PZM DTZ PZ1552 is current also, a battery disconnect has occurred. If no Class-2 loss of communication DTCs are set and ground and power are OK, replace the IPC.

If DTC IP 1552 sets without a battery disconnect, ensure good terminal contacts at power feed, connector C1 terminals "A1" and "B1," and grounds at connector Cl terminals "A12" and "B12."
