TRANSAXLE RANGE CONTROL CABLE

Remove or Disconnect


1. Air cleaner duct and housing.
2. Range control cable at lever on transaxle manual shaft.
3. Range control cable at bracket on transaxle.
4. Attaching bolts and bracket at transaxle (if bracket replacement is necessary).
5. Range control knob and console trim plate in passenger compartment.
6. Range control cable at range control assembly.
7. Loosen carpet attachments on front left side of passenger compartment to allow access to cable routing.
8. Cable grommet through cowl and cable from vehicle.

Install or Connect

1. Cable through cowl and grommet into cowl.
2. Route cable under carpet and attach carpet in front left side of passenger compartment.
3. Range control cable at range control lever assembly.
4. Console trim plate and range control knob in passenger compartment.
5. Cable bracket and attaching bolts at transaxle (if bracket replacement was necessary)

Tighten
Torque bolts to 47 Nm (35 lb ft).

6. Range control cable at bracket on transaxle.
7. Range control cable at lever on transaxle manual shaft.

Adjust

8. Use a flat head screwdriver to pry lock button on range control cable to "UNLOCKED" position. Refer to Figure 1.
9. Place transaxle range control in "NEUTRAL" (N).
10. Select "NEUTRAL" (N) position at lever on transaxle manual shaft.
11. Depress lock button on range control cable into "LOCKED" position. Refer to Figure 1.

Install or Connect

12. Air cleaner duct and housing.
