A/C - Hiss Noise When Compressor is in Operation

SUBJECT:
CONTINUOUS A/C HISS NOISE (REPLACE ORIFICE ASSEMBLY)

MODELS:
1994 CADILLAC ELDORADO, DEVILLE, CONCOURS AND SEVILLE

Condition:
Some owners may comment on a continuous hiss noise which can be heard inside the vehicle when the A/C compressor is in operation. This noise is more likely to be noticed at idle or when ambient noise is low.

This hiss noise should not be confused with the normal hiss noise which can be noticed after the vehicle is shut off.

Cause:
The hiss noise may be caused by a damaged, mis-located or missing refrigerant orifice O-ring.

Correction:
Replace the orifice assembly with P/N 3033879.
