CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The Injector Flow Check compares the fuel pressure drop when each injector is pulsed for a set amount of time. Since each injector is pulsed the same, the fuel pressure drop for each injector should be approximately the same. Suspect fuel injectors can be identified by either too high or too low fuel pressure drop. This chart requires J34730-1 fuel pressure gage.
NOTES ON FAULT TREE
1. No fuel pressure drop indicates that the injector did not operate. This could be caused by a faulty injector, a blown fuse, a wiring problem, or the PCM.
2. Injectors that have fuel pressure drops substantially different than to other injectors are suspect. An injector that has no pressure drop may indicate a wiring or PCM problem. Refer to Note # 1,
3. If injector pressure drop indicates normal injector operation, injector resistance out of specification could cause a driveability condition.
