DESCRIPTION:

This chart is used because the odometer problem has been isolated to the Programmer, ECM, CCDIC or the related data line circuitry.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. This step will re-install CKT 800 between ECM 2A9 and the ALDL into the data circuit. If the odometer reads zero, this portion of the circuit is shorted to ground or voltage.

2. The problem has been isolated to the area between the programmer and the ECM (including the data circuit).

3. The problem has been isolated to the area between the ECM pin 2A9 and the ALDL pin M (including the data circuit). Disconnecting the CCDIC will verify CKT 800 between pin A8 of the CCDIC and the ALDL pin M.

4. This step checks whether the CCDIC or CKT 800 is at fault.
