Park/Neutral Switch Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

Code E060 will set if the cruise control is engaged and the Park/Neutral switch is closed, indicating the transmission is in Park or Neutral.

TEST CONDITIONS:

1. Cruise control enabled.
2. Cruise control engaged.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

Transmission in Park/Neutral.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Disengage cruise control.

NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:

If code E060 is stored as an intermittent code, check the operation of the Park/Neutral input test. After selecting data ED72, manipulate affected wiring while observing the status of the switch. If the switch changes status while the wiring is being manipulated, repair the intermittent connections. If no trouble is found, explain to the customer that this code can be induced if the transmission is inadvertently put into neutral while the cruise control is engaged.
