VCC 3rd And 4th Switch Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

This diagnostic test monitors the 3rd or 4th gear pressure switch for an open position, when the transmission selector is in Park or Neutral and the vehicle speed is 0. The location of the pressure switch is on the left front of the engine compartment in the transmission.

TEST CONDITIONS:

1. Code E024 not set.
2. Engine running, transmission in park or neutral.
3. Vehicle speed 0 MPH.

FAILURE CONDITION:

Third or fourth gear pressure switch open when the vehicle is stopped and the transmission selector is in Park or Neutral.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Set code, turn ON Service Engine Soon telltale.
