DESCRIPTION:

CODE B449 is designed to disengage the A/C compressor clutch in the event that high side refrigerant temperature exceeds 93°C (199°F). The A/C compressor will come back on once the HI side temperature falls below 93°C.

1. Key "ON" engine running with A/C on.

2. Select BCM data BD27 A/C high side temperature (°C).

3. Note temperature displayed during A/C operation.

If the code was stored or current, temperature exceeds 199°F OR 93°C and A/C pressure exceeds 380 PSI, possible causes for excessive high A/C head pressure must be checked.
