Transaxle Mount
TRANSAXLE MOUNTS 4T60 (440-T4) - LEFT FRONT AND/OR RIGHT REAR AND LEFT REARTransaxle Mount Right Rear:
Transaxle Mounts & Brackets To Cradle - Left Side:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Raise vehicle.
2. Support transaxle with jackstand.
3. Nuts attaching mount to cradle (117).
4. Nuts attaching mount to transaxle mounting bracket.
5. Mount(s).
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Mount(s) into position.
2. Nuts attaching mount to transaxle mounting bracket.
TIGHTEN
^ Nuts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
3. Nuts attaching mount to cradle.
TIGHTEN
^ Nuts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
4. Remove jackstand.
5. Lower vehicle.
TRANSAXLE MOUNT LEFT REAR
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Two bolts attaching rack and pinion steering assembly to cradle, left side.
3. Raise vehicle, support transaxle with jackstand.
4. Three bolts attaching rack and pinion steering assembly to cradle, right side.
5. Three nuts attaching mount to cradle.
6. Three bolts attaching mounting bracket to transaxle.
7. Grasp rack and pinion steering assembly, move forward and upward while removing mount and bracket assembly.
8. Nut attaching mount to bracket.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Nut attaching mount to bracket.
TIGHTEN
^ Nut to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
2. Reposition rack and pinion steering assembly. Position mount and bracket assembly properly.
3. Bolts attaching bracket to transaxle.
TIGHTEN
^ Bolts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
4. Nuts attaching mount to cradle.
TIGHTEN
^ Nuts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
5. Position rack and pinion steering assembly. Start two left hand attaching bolts. Do not torque at this time.
6. Bolts attaching right rack and pinion mount to cradle.
TIGHTEN
^ Bolts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
7. Remove jackstand. Lower vehicle.
8. Torque two bolts attaching rack and pinion assembly left side to cradle.
TIGHTEN
^ Bolts to 31 Nm (23 lbs. ft.).
9. Negative battery cable.
