Fuel Filter: Service and Repair
Fuel Filter:
REMOVAL:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Relieve the fuel system pressure, refer to MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELIEF.
3. Disconnect the fuel inlet and outlet connections using suitable back-up wrenches.
4. Remove the fuel filter.
INSTALLATION:
1. Remove the protective caps from the new filter.
2. Install the filter in the retainer noting the direction of flow indicated on the filter.
3. Connect the fuel inlet and outlet connections using suitable back-up wrenches, and tighten to 27-34 Nm (20-25 lb.ft).
4. Tighten the fuel filler cap.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Turn the ignition ON for two seconds, then turn it OFF for five seconds. Again turn the ignition ON and check for fuel leaks.
