Torque Converter Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

This diagnostic test monitors throttle position and vehicle speed with the brake applied to detect an action of the driver that could damage the vehicle drivetrain or create an unsafe condition.

TEST CONDITIONS:

Codes E21, E22, and E24 not set.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

1. Brake applied.
2. Transmission in Drive or Reverse.
3. Vehicle speed 5 mph or less.
4. Throttle angel of 65 degrees or greater for 12 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Code is set.
2. No SERVICE ENGINE SOON lamp.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. When the test is successfully completed the fuel data center will alternately display E.7.1 and 00.
