Park/Neutral Switch Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

This diagnostic test monitors vehicle to detect the Park Neutral switch for a closed position when the vehicle is in 4th gear.

TEST CONDITIONS:

Continuous.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

Park/Neutral switch closed, 4th gear switch open and vehicle speed between 23 and 35 mph for 10 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Code is set.
2. PCM/ECM turns on SERVICE ENGINE SOON lamp.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. Drive vehicle and note parameter P.2.3, if parameter changes from 11 to 10 while vehicle is in gear fault will set.
