Driver Information Center (DIC or CCDIC) Messages
CIRCUIT OPERATION
The Climate Control Driver Information Center, (DIC or CCDIC), displays diagnostic information, fuel information, engine data, temperature, time and monitored systems messages. It communicates with the Body Computer Module (BCM) over the data line.
When the BCM detects a malfunction, it stores a diagnostic code in its memory section. For certain malfunctions the BCM turns on the "SEE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER" indicator on the information center. The DIC displays these monitored systems malfunctions in a priority order.
DIAGNOSIS
The DIC may generate messages based upon BCM or ECM inputs. When these messages are displayed, refer to BCM or ECM Input displays to diagnose these circuits.
Enter BCM or ECM input data display and observe the data display on the DIC as the circuit is being operated. The display should show the circuit switching on and off as circuit is operated. If the input display shows correct input display, but the DIC message still displays, replace the DIC.
