Fuel Meter Cover

The pressure regulator is integral with the fuel meter cover and is serviced as an assembly only. To avoid personal injury, the pressure regulator attaching screws must never be removed from the cover, as the regulator spring is under heavy compression.
1. Remove air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnect fuel injector electrical connectors.
3. Remove fuel meter cover attaching screws and the cover, Fig. 73. Do not immerse fuel meter cover in any type of cleaning agent.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install new dust seal in fuel meter body recess.
b. Install new fuel return passage gasket and fuel meter cover gasket.
c. Torque cover attaching screws to 28 inch lbs., noting locations of long and short screws, Fig. 73.
