A/T - Throttle Valve Lever Return Spring Eliminated

Bulletin No. T 87-34
File in Group 7
Number 147
Corp. Ref. No. 777106
Date Nov. '86

SUBJECT: THROTTLE VALVE LEVER RETURN SPRING ELIMINATED

MODELS AFFECTED: ALL 440-T4 TRANSAXLES

FIGURE 1 - 440-T4 TRANSAXLE:

In April of 1985, the spring was deleted from the throttle valve lever and bracket assembly on 440-T4 transaxles (Figure 1 - Item 50) to reduce throttle pedal effort. The change was also incorporated on all Service Replacement Transmission Assembly (SRTA) models.

Do not install a throttle valve lever return spring on any 440-T4 transaxle that is not so equipped. When servicing a 440-T4 built prior to this running change, the spring may be eliminated to reduce throttle pedal effort.
