Air Temperature Sensor - Upper Left



AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT - UPPER LEFT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the outer instrument panel (I/P) trim covers by pulling outward.
2. Remove the left I/P accessory trim plate.
3. Remove the right I/P accessory trim plate.
4. Remove the left I/P trim panel.




5. In order to access the air distributor duct screws, remove the upper fasteners retaining the lower I/P trim.

IMPORTANT: Complete removal of the lower I/P trim is not necessary.

6. Pull the I/P trim off the studs and lower the trim out of the way.




7. Remove the 2 screws (1) at the center of the air distributor duct.




8. Remove the screws at the outboard side of the air distributor duct.




9. Remove the left air temperature sensor from the air distributor duct by turning the sensor counterclockwise 1/4 turn.
10. Disconnect the air temperature sensor electrical connector.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the air temperature sensor electrical connector to the sensor.




2. Install the left air temperature sensor into the air distributor duct and turn clockwise 1/4 turn.
3. Install the air distributor duct.




4. Install the air distributor duct outboard screws.

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




5. Install the air distributor duct center screws (1).

Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (17 lb in).

6. Align the lower I/P trim to the studs.




7. Install the screws.

Tighten the screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

8. Install the left I/P trim panel.
9. Install the right I/P accessory trim plate.
10. Install the left I/P accessory trim plate.




11. Install the I/P outer trim covers.
