Carpet Replacement - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the front seats. Refer toSeat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) or toSeat Replacement - Split Bench (Seat Replacement - Split Bench) in Seats.
2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer toSeat Cushion Replacement - Rear (Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear) in Seats.




3. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer toCarpet Retainer Replacement - Front (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front) for the rearCarpet Retainer Replacement - Rear (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear) .
4. Remove the both instrument panel insulators. Refer toCloseout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) andCloseout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
5. Remove the trim panel from the lower center pillar. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar (Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar) .
6. Remove the quarter lower trim. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Lower (Service and Repair) .




7. Reposition the front and rear door weatherstrips and remove the carpet retainers (1) from the clips.
8. Remove the carpet from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure


Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.





1. Install the carpet into the vehicle.
Reach under the carpet and feed the following connectors through the slits in the carpet where required:

* The power seat adjusters
* The vacuum connector
* The seat belt warning wire connector

2. Install the carpet retainers over the clips on top of the rocker panels.
Install the door weatherstrips.
3. Install the quarter lower trim. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Rear Quarter Lower (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the trim panel to the lower center pillar. Refer toTrim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar (Trim Panel Replacement - Lower Center Pillar) .




5. Install the carpet retainers. Refer toCarpet Retainer Replacement - Front (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Front) for the rearCarpet Retainer Replacement - Rear (Carpet Retainer Replacement - Rear) .
6. Install both instrument panel insulators. Refer toCloseout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right (Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right) andCloseout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left (Service and Repair) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
7. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer toSeat Cushion Replacement - Rear (Seat Cushion Replacement - Rear) in Seats.
8. Install the front seats. Refer toSeat Replacement - Front Bucket (Seat Replacement - Front Bucket) or toSeat Replacement - Split Bench (Seat Replacement - Split Bench) in Seats.
