Tail Lamp Replacement

TAIL LAMP REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the rear compartment sill plate.
2. If removing the tail lamp for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 5.




3. Disconnect the tail lamp connector.
4. Press the grommet out of the rear end panel.
5. Remove the fasteners securing the tail lamp assembly to the body.
6. Remove the tail lamp assembly from the body.
7. Twist the tail lamp socket counter clockwise to remove.
8. Replace the failed bulbs, if necessary.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. If the tail lamp was removed for bulb replacement only, proceed to step 4.




2. Route the tail lamp connector and the grommet through the body.
3. Verify that the grommet is fully seated in the body rear end panel.
4. Install the tail lamp bulb into the tail lamp socket.
5. Align the tabs on the tail lamp socket to the notches in the tail lamp assembly.
6. Twist the tail lamp socket clockwise to secure the tail lamp socket to the tail lamp assembly.
7. Install the tail lamp assembly to the body.
8. Install the fasteners that secure the tail lamp assembly to the body.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 6 N.m (53 lb in).

9. Connect the tail lamp connector.
10. Install the rear compartment sill plate.
