Trim Pad Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) Upper (with HUD)

Removal Procedure

Caution: Refer to Restraint System Service Precautions in Service Precautions.

1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
2. Remove the defroster grill.




3. Remove left and right windshield garnish moldings.
4. Remove the left I/P outer trim cover.
5. Remove the right I/P outer trim cover.
6. Remove the fasteners (1, 2, 3) that secure the I/P upper trim pad to the carrier.
7. Lift the pad upward in order to disengage the retainers from the I/P.
8. Disconnect the sunload sensor (4).

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the sunload sensor (4).
2. Align the I/P upper trim pad with the retainers and press down in order to engage.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the fasteners (1, 2, 3) in order to secure the I/P upper trim pad to the carrier.

Tighten the fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

4. Install the right I/P outer trim cover.
5. Install the left I/P outer trim cover.
6. Install left and right windshield garnish moldings.
7. Install the defroster grill.
8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 and SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 in Restraint Systems.
