Latch Replacement - Rear Door

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the door trim panel.
2. Remove the door module.
3. Remove the water deflector.
4. Remove the inside door handle.




5. Disconnect the outside door handle rod (1) from the door latch by opening the clip (2) on the door latch.




6. Remove the door latch fasteners.
7. Remove the door latch with the inside door handle latch and lock rods attached.
8. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
9. Remove the handle and lock rods from the door latch.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the inside door handle and lock rods to the door latch.
2. Connect the electrical connectors.
3. Install the door latch into the door.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the door latch fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (89 lb in).




5. Connect the outside door handle latch rod to the door latch.

1. Insert the rod (1) into the clip (2) on the door latch assembly.
2. Close the clip.

6. Install the inside door handle.

Important: Inspect for the proper operation of the door handles before installing the water deflector and the door trim panel.

7. Install the water deflector.
8. Install the door module.
9. Install the door trim panel.
