Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil - Disassemble - Off Vehicle

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.

Important: Before performing the following procedures, check the fused jumper assembly for burned 2 amp fuses.

2. Remove the upper and lower trim covers.
3. Pop the wire harness assembly (4) out of the wire harness strap (5). Remove the 3 wire harness straps (3) from the wire harness assembly (4). Remove the wire harness strap (2) from the upper tilt head assembly (1).





4. Remove the black inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil connector (2) from the fused jumper assembly connector (1).





5. Remove the retaining ring (1).
6. Remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module coil (2).
7. Remove the wave washer (3).
