Hood Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure

The hood latch is attached to the radiator support. The holes are elongated in order to help in adjustment.




1. Remove the hood latch fasteners (1).
2. Remove the hood latch (2).




3. Disconnect the hood release cable from the hood latch (1).

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the hood release cable to the hood latch.
2. Install the hood latch (2).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Install the fasteners (1) in order to secure the hood latch.

Tighten the fasteners (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

4. Adjust the hood latch (2). Refer to Hood Latch Adjustment.
