Cooling Fan Replacement - ElectricRemoval Procedure
Caution An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away frown any underhood electric fan.
Caution To help avoid personal injury or damage to the vehicle, a bent, cracked, or damaged fan blade or housing should always be replaced.
Important: To prevent possible shearing of the rubber bushings loosen the bolts on the engine struts before swinging the struts.
1. Remove the LH and RH engine mount strut braces.
2. Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.
3. Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector.
4. Remove the cooling fan mounting bolts.
5. Remove the cooling fans.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the cooling fans.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the cooling fan mounting bolts.
- Tighten the cooling fan mounting bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Connect the cooling fan electrical connector.
4. Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.
5. Install the LH and RH engine mount strut braces.
6. Inspect the cooling fan motors for proper operation.
