Hood Primary and Secondary Latch Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the bolts retaining the hood latch assembly (3) to the hood latch support (1).




3. Remove the hood latch release cable (3) from the hood latch (2).
4. Remove the hood latch assembly (2) from the hood latch support (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood latch release cable (3) to the latch assembly (2).
2. Position the latch to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the bolts retaining the latch (3).

Tighten the bolts to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

4. Close the hood.
5. Inspect the operation of the latch.
6. Adjust the latch as needed.
