Door Removal - Front

Removal Procedure

1. Open the front door.




2. Separate the door wire harness conduit (2) from the connector.




3. Disconnect the door wire harness connector (3) from the body wire harness connector (2).




4. Remove the door check link fasteners from the body.




5. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
6. Lift the door in order to remove.



Installation Procedure

1. Align the door hinge halves.
2. Lower the door so that the hinge halves mate together.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.


Important: Use Loctite(R) Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to the fastener installation.


3. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners.

Tighten the intermediate front door hinge fasteners (1) to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Install the door check link. Refer to Door Check Link Replacement (Service and Repair) .




5. Install the wiring conduit (4) over the door wire harness connector (2).
6. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness (3).
7. Snap the assembled harness connectors into the pillar opening.
8. Check for proper door adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment (Adjustments) .
9. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate front door hinge fasteners with body color paint.
