Door Check Link Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Open the door.
2. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair
3. Remove the door control module, if applicable. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement - Front Service and Repair
4. Remove the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the check link to pillar fasteners.




6. Remove the close-out grommet.




7. Remove the check link to door fasteners (2).
8. Remove the door check link through the inside of the door.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the check link into the door.
2. Load the check link studs through the access holes on the door inner panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the check link to door fasteners (1).

Tighten the fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





4. Install the check link arm to the door hinge pillar fasteners.

Tighten the check link arm fasteners to 9 N.m (80 lb in).





5. Install the close-out grommet.
6. Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair or Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement Service and Repair
7. Install the door control module, if applicable. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement - Front Service and Repair
8. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair) or Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Service and Repair
