Rear Door Removal and Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Open the rear and the front doors
2. Separate the door wire harness conduit (2) from the connector.




3. Disconnect the door wire harness from the body wire harness.




4. Remove the door check link fasteners from the pillar.




5. Remove the intermediate hinge fasteners (1) from both hinges.
6. Lift the door to remove with the aid from an assistant.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Align the door hinge halves.
2. Lower the door so the hinge halves mate together.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

IMPORTANT: Use Loctite� Blue GM P/N 12345382 or equivalent prior to installing the fasteners.

3. Install the intermediate door hinge fasteners (1).

Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).

4. Touch up any paint damage to the intermediate rear door hinge fasteners with body color paint.
5. Install the door check link.
6. Install the wiring conduit (2) over the connector.




7. Connect the door wire harness to the body wire harness.
8. Check the door for proper adjustment. Refer to Door Adjustment.
