Removal
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Drain the radiator coolant.
2. Remove the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor electrical connector (1) from the IAT sensor (2).
4. Remove the intake air duct from the throttle body.
IAC Electrical Connector:
5. Remove the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve electrical connector from the IAC valve.
6. Remove the TP (Throttle Position) Sensor electrical connector from the Throttle Position (TP) Sensor.
MAF Electrical Connector:
7. Remove the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor electrical connector from the MAF Sensor.
Description:
8. Remove the accelerator control cable from the throttle body lever. Refer Accelerator Controls Cable Replacement.
9. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body lever.
10. Remove the accelerator control cable from the accelerator controls bracket. Refer Accelerator Controls Cable Replacement.
11. Remove the cruise control cable from the accelerator controls bracket.
12. Remove the electrical harness retainer clip from the accelerator control cable bracket.
13. Remove the vacuum lines from the throttle body noting location.

14. Remove the throttle body support bracket.
Description:
15. Remove the nuts and bolts holding the throttle body to the intake manifold using a wrench on the manifold side of the inserts to prevent the inserts from rotating in the manifold casting.
16 Remove the throttle body assembly from the intake manifold.
NOTICE: Do Not use solvent of any type when cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as damage to the gasket surfaces and throttle body assembly may result.
Use care in cleaning the gasket surfaces on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly, as sharp tools may damage the gasket surfaces.
17. Clean the gasket surface on the intake manifold and the throttle body assembly.
18. Remove the accelerator controls bracket from the throttle body if the throttle body is being replaced. Refer to Accelerator Controls Cable Bracket Replacement.
