Engine Block Heater Installation:
REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Drain coolant.
2. Cord from engine coolant heater.
3. Loosen, but do not completely remove bolt.
4. Engine coolant heater.
Clean
^ Core plug hole, removing any burrs, compound, paint, or rough spots.
INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. Apply a coat of Permatex� Thread Sealant with Teflon to the 0-ring and clean surface of plug opening.
2. Insert heater and push tight to block. Position element as shown in Figure.
3. Tighten bolt until both locking wings draw tight against inner wall of engine block.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 2 N.m (17 lb in).
NOTE: The heater cord must not touch the engine, hot pipes, manifold, or any moving parts.
4. Heater cord assembly.
5. Fill with coolant.
