Unit Repair









DISASSEMBLE
1. Air compressor assembly from vehicle.
2. Air compressor connector (J) from connector anchor (K).
^ Slide air compressor connector away from air compressor and off of anchor.
3. Three bolts (5) and heat shield (12) from air compressor bracket (7).
4. Air dryer.
5. Cut harness tie (26).
6. Bolt (27) and harness tie (26).
7. Two harness ties (28) and wrap (29) from wires.

NOTE: Note wire colors and terminal numbers to ensure correct assembly.

8. Two wire terminals (S) from air compressor connector (J).
9. Air hose (10) from air compressor head (30).
10. Three head bolts (31) and air compressor head (30) from air compressor assembly (3).
11. Gasket (32) from air compressor head (30) or air compressor assembly (3).

CAUTION: See Caution about fasteners.

ASSEMBLE
1. New gasket (32) on air compressor assembly (3).
2. Air compressor head (30) on air compressor assembly (3) with three bolts (31).
^ Tighten three bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).
3. Air hose (10) to air compressor head (30).

CAUTION: Wire terminals must be installed in the connector sockets where they were removed from. Air compressor assembly will not operate if terminals are installed incorrectly.

4. Two wire terminals (S) in air compressor connector (J).
5. Wrap (29) around four wires and secure with two harness ties (28).
6. Four wires in harness tie (26) and harness tie (26) on air compressor head (30) with bolt (27).
^ Tighten bolt to 3 Nm (26 inch lbs.).
7. Air dryer.
8. Heat shield (12) and harness tie (6) on air compressor bracket (7) with three screws (5).
^ Tighten three screws to 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.).
9. Air compressor connector (I) to connector anchor (K).
10. Air compressor on vehicle.
