Crankshaft and Bearings Clean and Inspect
1. Clean the crankshaft in solvent.
2. Dry the crankshaft with compressed air.
3. Measure the crankpins for out-of-round, taper, or undersize with a micrometer.
4. Support the crankshaft front and rear journals on V-blocks.
5. Measure the crankshaft run-out at the front and rear intermediate journals with a dial indicator.
6. Replace or recondition the crankshaft if measurements are not within specifications.
