Accelerator Controls (Bracket) Replacement






REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.

Accelerator Cable:






2. Rotate the throttle lever.





3. Disconnect the cruise control cable (1) from the bracket.
4. Disconnect the accelerator cable (3) from the bracket.





5. Remove the two bolts from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTICE: In order to prevent possible interference and damage, flexible components (hoses, wires, conduits, etc.) must not be routed within 50 mm (2 in) of moving parts, unless the routing is positively controlled.

1. Install the two brackets bolts.
Tighten
^ Bolts to 3 Nm (27 in. lb.).
2. Reconnect the accelerator cable (3) to the bracket.
3. Reconnect the cruise control cable (1) to the bracket.

IMPORTANT: The throttle should operate freely, without binding, between full closed and wide open throttle.

4. Check for complete throttle opening and closing positions by operating the accelerator pedal. Also check for poor carpet fit under the accelerator pedal.
5. Install the fuel injection sight shield. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
Tighten
^ Bolt to 2 Nm (18 in. lb.).
